Privacy Policy
Version 2026-09-25
Nonstop Branding Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16634111, registered office 29 Doodstone Nook, Lostock Hall, Preston, England, PR5 5AQ ("Nonstop", "we", "us"), values the privacy of the people who use Designer HQ. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you use Designer HQ at designerhq.app (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.
1. Personal information we collect
Information you provide. When you create an account we ask for your name, email address, phone number and a password, and the name of your studio. We record the country your sign-up came from. If you add team members, we collect their name and email address. If you add clients and the people who work for them, we collect the names, email addresses and company details you enter about them. If you upload a logo or a photo, we store it. When you contact us, we keep the correspondence. If you sign up on the page that asks whether we may text you, we record which of the two boxes you ticked and when.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Services we record your IP address, your browser and device type, and the actions you take in the product and when, such as publishing a document or completing a task. If something goes wrong we record an error report. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a small number of settings that remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics inside the product. If you reached us from our marketing site, that site gives us the identifier it set on your visit, so we can tell which page brought you here; it is a random string and we store it against your studio.
Information from our payment partner. When you purchase a plan, our checkout partner tells us your email address, the plan you bought and whether the payment succeeded. We never receive or store your card details.
The Chrome button. If you add the Designer HQ extension to Chrome, it talks only to your own Designer HQ account, using the sign-in you already have in that browser, and it collects nothing from the sites you visit until you use it. To keep its menu of your boards current, it asks your account for that list when it starts, every 15 minutes, and when a Designer HQ page loads; those requests carry your sign-in and nothing about the pages you visit. On Designer HQ's own pages it tells the page it is installed, so the page stops offering it. When you save something with it, it sends us what that save needs: the address of the page you are on (and its title, when you save the page itself), the addresses of the picture or video you chose, and a screenshot of the part of the tab you can see when you capture the page or an area of it, save the page itself (the screenshot is its cover), or save a picture that cannot be fetched from its address. We fetch the picture from its address and keep it on the board you chose, like a file you upload. The hover Save button is off until you turn it on. Turning it on asks Chrome to let the extension run on the sites you visit, so the button can appear over pictures; it still sends nothing until you press Save. The extension keeps your recent boards, its settings and a short list of its own errors in your browser, and sends none of them to us. It does not record your browsing history, and nothing it collects is used for advertising, sold, or shared beyond the providers in section 4. Our use of it follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can remove it at any time from Chrome's extensions page.
2. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain and improve the Services;
- create and manage your account and your team's access;
- send the emails the Services send, such as sign-in links, invitations and notices that a document is ready;
- produce AI drafts when you use a feature that offers one, by sending the text needed for that draft to our AI provider;
- respond to your requests and support questions;
- contact you about Designer HQ by email, phone or message, using the details you gave when you signed up: to help you set the product up, to ask how you are finding it, and to tell you about the plans and about features we add. You can stop this at any time, by replying to any message or by writing to hello@designerhq.app, and we will still send you the emails the Services need to send, such as sign-in links and billing notices;
- keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and fix faults;
- comply with our legal obligations.
Text messages. If you tick a box on our sign-up page agreeing to text messages, we text you from Designer HQ about your account and your free trial and, only if you ticked the second box, about our plans and offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop, or HELP for help. We record which boxes you ticked and when, beside the number you gave. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of signing up, and section 4 says who your number and your consent reach: only the provider that delivers the messages.
Our people do not read the files, documents, strategy, brand hubs, contracts or messages you keep in the Services, except where you ask us to help with a specific item or the law requires it. Two things are worth naming beside that. When you use the assistant inside the product, a summary of your workspace goes to our AI provider along with your question, so it can answer about your own work. Platform administrators can see your studio's name, its owners' names and email addresses, when they last signed in, what plan they are on, how much of the storage and AI allowance they have used, and which accounts they have connected; they cannot see the content of your files, documents or messages through that view. We do not use anything you keep in the Services to train AI models.
3. Legal bases
Where the law of the United Kingdom or the European Union applies, we process personal information on these bases: to perform our contract with you; for our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Services, and in telling people who signed up for Designer HQ about Designer HQ, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; to comply with the law; and, where we ask for it, your consent.
4. How we share personal information
Service providers. We work with third-party providers to operate the Services and share with each of them only the information their service needs. This list is current as at the version date at the top of this policy.
| Provider | What it does | What reaches it |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting | Requests to the Services, including your IP address |
| Neon | The database | Everything stored in the Services |
| Cloudflare | File storage | The files, images and documents you upload |
| Anthropic | The AI model behind drafting features | The text a draft needs, and your question when you use the assistant |
| Resend | Sending our email | The recipient's address and the message |
| Whop | Checkout and payments | Your email address and what you bought. Card details go to Whop, never to us |
| Serper and Google Places | Web search in Client Acquisition | The searches a designer runs |
| Sentry | Error reports, so we can fix faults | The error, where it happened, and the account it happened to |
| Sign in with Google, Google Calendar and Google Drive, if you connect them, and the fonts a brand hub page is set in | Your name, email address, the calendar you choose and the events on it (we show them to you alone on your calendar page when it opens, and keep none of them), and for Google Drive the folder you choose for a client and the files in it. The files stay in Google Drive: we list the folder when its page opens, pass a file through when someone opens or downloads it, and keep small preview pictures. Designer HQ's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. A brand hub page asks Google for its fonts when someone opens it, which tells Google that visitor's IP address | |
| Dropbox | The Dropbox folder for a client, if you connect it | The folder you choose and the files in it |
| Slack | Notices into your own Slack, if you connect it, and into ours, below | The notice and the channel you choose |
| LeadConnector | The texts, calls and WhatsApp messages between you and our team | Your name, your phone number and those messages |
If we add or replace a provider we update this table and change the version date at the top. Write to hello@designerhq.app if you want to be told when it changes.
Text messages. Your phone number and your agreement to receive text messages go only to LeadConnector, which delivers them. They are never shared with anyone else for their own use, and never sold.
Our own group. Designer HQ and the Nonstop branding agency are run by the same company. Your sign-up details and the standing of your plan are visible to our own team for the purposes in section 2. This is not a transfer to anyone else.
Internal notices. When someone signs up or buys a plan, their name and email address are posted into our own Slack so a person sees it.
As required by law. We may disclose personal information if we believe it is required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Nonstop, our users or others.
Business transfers. If Nonstop is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and this policy will continue to apply to it.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable form. You can update your account details in Settings, and you can download the files, documents and brand hubs you keep in the Services at any time. To stop us contacting you about the product, reply to any message asking us to stop, or write to hello@designerhq.app. For anything else, contact us at hello@designerhq.app and we will respond within one month.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.
6. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active. When your plan ends, your account becomes read-only and its contents stay until you ask us to delete them. On request we delete your account and its contents within thirty days, and from our backups within ninety days after that. We may keep some information for longer where the law requires it, such as records of the invoices we issued to you.
7. Security
We protect personal information with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk: encrypted connections, encryption at rest by our hosting providers, separation of each studio's data at the database level, and access limited to named platform administrators, who are set in our configuration and cannot be granted the role from inside the product. Every change an administrator makes to a studio is recorded. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
8. Children
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
9. International transfers
The Services run in the European Union: the servers that answer your requests and the database that holds your data are both in Frankfurt, Germany, and our email provider sends from an EU region. Files you upload are held by Cloudflare, which may store them in more than one region. Some of our service providers process information in the United States. Where personal information subject to United Kingdom or European Union law is transferred outside those territories, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the provider concerned.
10. If you are a business we contacted
This section is for people who did not sign up for anything and have received an email or a call from a studio using our Client Acquisition module. It is the notice the law requires when personal data is collected from somewhere other than the person it is about.
What is held. A business name and website, a contact name, a business email address and phone number where those are published, the country, and notes written about what the business's own website shows.
Where it came from. Publicly available sources: the business's own website, web search results and business listings. We use Serper and Google Places to find them. We do not buy lists and we do not guess email addresses.
Who holds it and why. The studio that ran the search decides who to approach and holds the record in their own workspace; Nonstop obtains and stores it for them so the module works. The purpose is one designer introducing their services to a business they think they can help, which is our and their legitimate interest in marketing to businesses.
How to be taken off. Reply to the message with the word remove and the studio's record is closed and never contacted again through the module. You can also write to hello@designerhq.app with the address or number you were contacted on and we will have it removed. Either way you do not have to say why.
Your rights. The rights in section 5 apply to this data too: you can ask what is held, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to it being held at all.
11. Changes to this policy and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the version at the top and, if the change is significant, ask you to agree to it again the next time you sign in.
